National Digital Library of India
OVERVIEW :The National Digital Library of India (NDLI) is a virtual repository of learning resources that offers more than just search and browse capabilities to the learner community. The Ministry of Education, Government of India, sponsors and mentors it through its National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology (NMEICT). Filtered and federated searching are used to facilitate focused searching so that learners can find the right resource with the least amount of effort and in the shortest amount of time. NDLI offers services tailored to specific user groups, such as Examination Preparatory for high school and college students and job seekers. Services are also available for researchers and general learners. The NDLI is intended to hold content in any language and to provide interface support for the ten most commonly used Indian languages. It is designed to support all academic levels, including researchers and life-long learners, as well as all disciplines, all popular types of access devices, and differently-abled students. It is intended to allow people to learn and prepare from best practises from around the world, as well as to enable researchers to conduct inter-linked exploration from multiple sources. It is created, run, and maintained by the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur.
