Its extension education program is a two-way process that facilitates mutual sharing of resources between the university and the community for the development of both.
The DLLE offers six types of Extension Work Projects, including vocational career-oriented projects and community-oriented projects, to enhance the employability and IT skills of the students. Students who complete 120 hours of work on the Extension Work Project are awarded an additional 10 marks in the final exam.
The department’s objective is to make education relevant to real-life situations by serving as an intellectual intervention in the community’s living problems, developing a sense of responsibility towards society among students, and designing programs to help students face life’s challenges. DLLE’s efforts are focused on the central objective of “Reach to the Unreached” by extending educational programs to enhance and improve the quality of life of less privileged groups.
DLLE’s extension work projects encompass various social issues, and students create awareness about these problems through activities like street plays, exhibitions, poster making, surveys, seminars, and conferences.
